Over 60 Chickens Die Due To Alleged Loud Music in Odisha’s Balasore

Over 60 chickens in a private poultry farm at Kandagaradi village in Balasore allegedly died due to loud music.

The owner of the farm has filed a police complaint alleging that the loud noise created by a local DJ led to the death of more than 60 chickens.

The chicken farm owner, Ranjit Parida has filed the complaint against the organiser of the DJ for playing loud music during a marriage procession which allegedly caused panic among the chickens and led to the death of as many as 63 chickens.

“There was a marriage in the village on Sunday night. During the wedding procession, the music played by the DJ was very loud. At around 11 pm, when the procession was halted near my chicken farm, the loud music caused panic among the birds,” said Ranjit while describing the incident.

Ranjit further claimed that though he urged the organisers not to play loud music, they didn't pay heed to his request and continued playing the music in high volume.

“The loud music killed 63 chickens in my farm; they died of heart attack caused by panic,” alleged Ranjit.

He had reportedly  demanded compensation from the organisers, but when they denied, he approached the police.

“Noises increase the risk of cardiovascular disease in humans. When it comes to the chickens, heart attack in them following loud noises is quick and deadly too,” explained Bijaya Kumar Sarangi, a retired officer from the department of Animal Welfare.

He further said that the chicken could have died of heart attack due to the loud music.

Deprive Of Old Age Pension, 92-YO Man ‘Forced’ To Visit Bank On Trolley For KYC Updation

They say rules make life easier and comfortable but sometimes, it takes a toll on human lives too. A case in point is the recent incident from Bishnupur panchayat of Odisha's Bhadrak district where a 92-year-old man had to visit bank for KYC updation to get his old age pension amount.

As per reports, Manjulata Jena, the only daughter of the elderly man visited the bank to enquire about the pension amount after her father (the beneficiary) failed to get the money for two consecutive months. The bank staff had then told her to bring her father to the branch. Though she requested them that her father was not in a position to visit the bank, she was allegedly told that the money could not be disbursed without the KYC updation and it needs the presence of the beneficiary.

Left with no other choice, Manjulata had to bring her father to the Nalanga branch of the bank, which was located at a distance of around 5 km, on a trolley with the help of her husband.

"Earlier, the government was giving the pension amount directly but now, it is being sent to bank accounts. Bank staff told me that we can't get the pension money without KYC updation. Though we visited the bank with all the necessary documents, they forced us to bring my father to the bank," said Manjulata Jena.

Many beneficiaries of the old age pension scheme are facing same problem. They are deprived of what they deserve due to the apathy and negligence of banks, alleged a local. "The government should look into the matter so that these people in their old age won't suffer, at least by banks," he added.

Responding to the allegations, the said bank staff Sankarshan Mishra said, "I had told them that I will fill up the KYC form but they had to give thumb impression in presence of the officer. Had they given an application to the bank manager, I would have visited their home after getting instructions from the BM."

However, the BM could not be contacted to comment on the allegations levelled against the bank staff.

Woman Stages Dharna After Groom Deserts Her On Big Day In Odisha’s Berhampur

A curious case of a woman staging dharna at the house of the groom after the latter allegedly deserted her on the wedding day unfolded in Berhampur on Monday.

As per reports, the bride, Dimple Dash sat on a dharna at the gate of her groom, Sumit Sahu’s house at Brahma Nagar in the Silk city after he did not turn up at the marriage venue where they were supposed to tie the knot.

Peeved at the desertion, Dimple, along with her mother, threatened to commit suicide if the matter was not resolved before daybreak.

Sources said Dash and Sahu already had their legal wedding at a marriage registrar’s office sometime back. Today they were supposed to solemnize the marriage with customary Hindu rituals which could not happen after the groom allegedly did not turn up.

An agitated Dimple vented her anger on the Police personnel present at the spot and accused them of taking bribes from the groom’s family to keep quiet. “They all have been bribed by him (Sahu) and I have proof which I will produce in the court,” she said.

When contacted, Berhampur SP Pinak Mishra said, “The woman claimed that she was married to the youth (Sahu). A case has already been registered at the Mahila Police station in the past in this connection. Notices have already been served to the persons mentioned in the FIR. Later, the groom’s family also filed a complaint against the bride’s family, and a charge sheet has also been filed in the court over the same.”

Asked about the alleged police inaction, Mishra said “When a case is sub-judice the role of the Police gets restricted. We will act as per the court’s direction.”

Facebook Messenger, Instagram Will Not Get End-to-End Encryption Until 2023: Report

Meta earlier said that default E2EE would become available on Instagram and Messenger, "sometime in 2022 at the earliest."

Facebook Messenger, Instagram Will Not Get End-to-End Encryption Until 2023: Report

Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp's parent company — Meta does not plan to roll out end-to-end encryption (E2EE) by default on Messenger and Instagram until 2023.

The company merged Messenger and Instagram chats last year, as a part of its plan to create a unified messaging system across all of its platforms.

As per The Verge, while messages sent through Messenger and Instagram can be E2EE, that option isn't turned on by default and likely won't be until sometime in 2023. WhatsApp already supports E2EE by default.

As per a source, Antigone Davis, Meta's head of safety, attributed the delay to concerns about user safety. Since E2EE means only the sender and recipient will see their conversations, Davis said Meta wants to ensure that this doesn't interfere with the platform's ability to help stop criminal activity.

Once E2EE does become available by default, Davis noted that the company will "use a combination of non-encrypted data across our apps, account information and reports from users" to help keep them safe, all while "assisting public safety efforts."

In a blog post earlier this year, Meta said that default E2EE would become available on Instagram and Messenger, "sometime in 2022 at the earliest." But now, Davis said that Meta wants to "get this right," so the company plans on delaying the feature's debut until 2023.

Also going into effect in 2023 is the UK's Online Safety bill, which will require online platforms to keep children from harm, as well as promptly address abusive content. This may impede Facebook's plans to enable E2EE by default, as the UK's Home Secretary, Priti Patel, has criticized its use in the past.

Last year, the US joined the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, and Japan in a call to give local law enforcement backdoor encryption access, which would allow authorities to view encrypted messages and files if a warrant is issued.

WhatsApp Delta: Downloading this mod can lead you to trouble, Know details about it

When it comes to major instant messaging apps, WhatsApp has been way ahead of other apps like telegram, signal, and others. The popularity of WhatsApp is second to none in Android as well as iOS. As the number of developers is more on Android as compared to iOS, there is a huge availability of different mods for WhatsApp on Android. These mods are provided by different apps that are either available on the Play Store or are third-party apps. Users on Android download these apps to avail some features or mods that the original version doesn’t offer. Among such apps is WhatsApp Delta. However, using this app can lead to severe consequences and sometimes suspension of your account.

What is WhatsApp Delta

WhatsApp Delta or GBWhatsApp Delta is a mod which is developed by Deltalabs Studio. The mod is an updated version of a previous mod known as GBWhatsApp. Users get an option for making customizations such as Primary Color, Application Theme, Message UI, Custom Font Style, Home UI, and many others.

Some other features which are included in the app are auto-reply, blocking calls, hiding online status, concealing typing notification, and many others. Users have the privilege of sending large files through this mod. The users can send large audio files, video files, and images of high quality to other WhatsApp users. The users can also extend the duration of the status through their app. Users can even edit a message which they have already sent by using this mod, reported PersiaDigest.

How is WhatsApp Delta downloaded

This App is not available on Google Play Store for download. If someone has to use this app they can download the APK file from third-party websites. However, users should keep in mind that before installing the mod they are supposed to back up the chats and uninstall the original app (failing to back up the data can cause permanent deletion). Then, they can install WhatsApp Delta.

It is worth noting that installing any modified version of WhatsApp is illegal and it is not recommended by Google. If you are found using any mods which violate the rules of WhatsApp, they can get blocked for a brief period of time.

WhatsApp introduces Flash Calls, Message Level Reporting safety features in India

WhatsApp Flash Calls is currently available only on Android. The feature should be released on iOS in the coming days.

WhatsApp has introduced new safety features in India called Flash Calls and Message Level Reporting features. Flash calls are an additional layer on top of the SMS verification during the registration process on WhatsApp. Users can verify their number via an automated call while setting up their WhatsApp account.

WhatsApp Flash Calls is currently available only on Android. The feature should be released on iOS in the coming days. The feature lets WhatsApp call the user and verify their identity without having to rely upon SMS verification. The company states that this verification method is a safer option as it takes place within the app itself.

The Message Level Reporting feature on WhatsApp helps users report messages in an easier manner. One can simply long-press a message to either report or block the user. The new WhatsApp features introduced today are an addition to the existing list of safety features on the platform. WhatsApp gives users the control as to who can see their profile photo, status, last seen, and about details. It also lets users select settings around group invites, which also includes not allowing anyone to add them to a group without their permission. WhatsApp also gives users the option to block a particular account if required.

In related news, WhatsApp for desktop is likely to get some privacy features that were so far exclusive to the mobile app. WhatsApp for desktop beta 2.2146.5 update lets users have more control over the privacy features. Users will be able to manage their last seen, profile photo, and about pages directly from the WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for desktop clients. There is no official word yet on when the WhatsApp privacy features will be made available for all users of desktop and web apps.
