Himesh Reshammiya, MJ5 set to steal the show at Gopalpur Beach Festival
Berhampur: It seems the Gopalpur Beach Festival in Odisha’s Ganjam district is going to be a bigger, better and dazzling one as popular Bollywood singer-music director Himesh Reshammiya and famous dance group ‘MJ 5’ are set to steal the shows this year.
Confirming the news, Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi, Gopalpur MLA and Chairman of the festival committee, said arrangements are in full swing to make the festival bigger and better than previous years.
To be held at the seaside resort, Gopalpur-On-Sea, about 10km from the city, the five-day long cultural extravaganza will be held from December 24 to December 28.
According to Panigrahi, singing sensation from Odisha and winner of “Indian Idol Junior 2” Ananya Sritam Nanda will perform on the opening day of the carnival (Dec 24) followed by Himesh Reshammiya.
MJ5, a Delhi-based group named after the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, known for enthralling audience with their creative performances, unique styles and visually stunning dance will perform on Dec 26, Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar on 27th and Indian Idol fame LV Revanth will take to the stage on 28th, the concluding day of the event.
Besides, TV actor stand-up comedian Vijay Ishwarlal Pawar, better known as VIP, known for his works in popular TV shows like Comedy Circus and Dekh India Dekh and mimicking Bollywood actors, will provide a good laughter at the beach fest.
A series of events, including cultural shows, Charukala (fine arts), Pallishree Mela, handloom and craft fair, trade fair, food festival etc are lined up for the mega festival.
The beach festival is being organised by Ganjam District Hoteliers Association (GDHA) with help from the Ganjam district administration and police. The event is aimed at attracting tourists to the serene Gopalpur beach resort.
The State Tourism Department has also included the five-day period in December as the time for Gopalpur beach festival in the tourism calendar of Odisha.
